๐Ÿ•Špallbearers๐Ÿ•Š

I take back everything I might have thought about ์ผ์‚ฐ, this place is way nice. Our bishop is actually the coolest, and he loves the youth, which is why he's turning the 4th floor of our church building into a "gathering place" for the youth, complete with a Futsal court, a kitchen, a pool table, and much more. "When I say a hang out spot I'm not talking about that ping pong garbage. I'm talking Futsal court, kitchen, pool table, stuff that people actually like" - pretty accurate interpretation of what our bishop said at ward council. Let's hope I stay another transfer cause that's when the construction is expected to be finished.

Us after setting up the materials for our ward proselyting after church

"Make sure to send that picture to your mission president so he knows how good our ward is" - that grandpa in the pic ^^

"Make sure you mention my name too, me and him go way back" - also that grandpa

"Don't worry, I told your teaching friend not to take the sacrament for the time being cause he's not progressing and he doesn't have any desire to be baptized" - same grandpa ๐Ÿคฆ‍♂️๐Ÿคฆ‍♂️

He asked me if I ate breakfast that morning, and I took a risk and said no. I didn't know how his reaction would be since I've been scolded by old Koreans for not eating breakfast, but I've also been scolded by other old Koreans when I said I did eat breakfast.

His response: "Wow, you were so focused on missionary work that you forgot about breakfast! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ Well done." ๐Ÿค

Luckily I chose the right answer in saying I didn't eat breakfast. Love that guy ๐Ÿซถ

About a year ago at this time I crossed attending a Korean wedding off the bucket list. This week my comp and I crossed attending a Korean funeral off the bucket list

We got a text the night before from a worried member, who said they had nobody to help them carry the casket for a funeral the next day, so we volunteered to help them. I was worried that my suit wasn't gonna be dark enough for a funeral, cause all I have is light gray and blue, so I took some black pants with me just in case, thinking that maybe I'd somehow get lucky and find a black suit coat somewhere on the way. I've been wanting a black suit coat for a while anyway.

But yeah, we actually did get lucky and there was a little store that we noticed on the way to the station that sold suit coats for like $15 so that was crazy. Anyway we went to the funeral place, ate lunch with some guy, helped carry the coffin, and that was pretty much it. We also got to see the whole procedure take place and the family saying goodbye as the coffin was taken away, which was kind of a shocking experience.

As we watched a lot of the people at the funeral home mourning while saying goodbye to their loved ones, I couldn't help but imagine how hard it would be to not have the knowledge or knowing that they would be able to see them again. It was really sad and I wanted to go teach them all about the plan of salvation and comfort them and ask if it would be okay if we said a prayer together, but I decided I probably shouldn't, cause that would probably get us kicked out.

Took some pics cause we felt cool in our pallbearer fits (don't worry, all pics were taken hours later and in a different location, so as to not to be disrespectful during any ceremonies or anything)

Anyway besides that nothing too crazy this week. We don't really have teaching friends in this area so we've been doing a lot of finding and we were able to meet with a least a few people. One of them is named Kevin and we taught him English and then a spiritual message, and also sang for him and his family. We're meeting him again this week and he said he wants to teach us how to cook ๊น€์น˜์ฐŒ๊ฐœ so we'll see how that goes
