Ice Ramen

Highlights:

김재희 was baptized this week! She was our teaching friend, but wanted to get baptized into a different ward, so one of the ward members of that ward baptized her. But she had a great ceremony and one of our other teaching friends was able to come too and witness it!

We had zone p day today for 설날! (Lunar New Year). We had a ton of fun activities so it was pretty hype.

I tried a new food this week, 냉면 (cold Ramen/ice Ramen) if you look you can see the chunks of ice in the Ramen. It's like a slushy consistency. It was actually really good surprisingly. The water is like vinegar with a bunch of stuff in it like cucumbers and other stuff too. I'm pretty sure it's exactly what watercress salad would be like if it was a real thing, but with noodles (if you know what watercress salad is, you have my full respect)

We went on a fun exchange.

Spiritual thought:

I finished the Book of Mormon this week, and one of my favorite verses I read was in the last chapter: Moroni 10: 32- Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny yourselves of all ungodliness; and if ye shall deny yourselves of all ungodliness, and love God with all your might, mind and strength, then is his grace sufficient for you, that by his grace ye may be perfect in Christ; and if by the grace of God ye are perfect in Christ, ye can in nowise deny the power of God.

I love this verse because as one of the last chapters of the Book of Mormon, it teaches us to "come unto Christ" which is actually the whole purpose of the Book of Mormon, to help us come unto Christ. I also like that it says if we love God with all our heart, might, mind, and strength, his grace will be sufficient for us.

I don't have a lot of time so I gotta go.

Supreme Court of Korea

Highlights:

Taught some English to some Supreme Court employees (first missionaries in the Supreme Court building) (you need an invite to get in)

Started taking pics in front of all the modern art I see. 강남^^

A lot happened this week that kind of changed a lot. Last transfer was kind of more smooth progression with all our investigators but this week it was like they all decided they're all in or all out. So, our first one, 박선재, has agreed to be baptized in February.

He started considering joining the church and then we got a member in a lesson with us that kind of helped get rid of all his concerns about joining, so now we're planning for one of the first weeks of February.

We also have been teaching 김재희, who originally was on date but didn't feel like she was ready. So recently we've just been reading scriptures with her and helping to nurture her testimony. And then today she texted us and said she made the decision to be baptized!! She kind of switches off which ward she goes to, and we said she kinda has to pick one eventually, and she has more friends in her other ward so she's getting baptized into that ward this Saturday!

And then another investigator who's been meeting with missionaries for 15 years, 최덕상, texted us randomly and said he's cutting contact with us. Really sad but we'll pray for him. I think he'll come back eventually. And also like I mentioned last week, tom from Croatia is in jail now. So out of 4 of our investigators, 2 are unfortunely gone for now and 2 are really close to baptism

Mormon 9:19 And if there were miracles wrought then, why has God ceased to be a God of miracles and yet be an unchangeable Being? And behold, I say unto you he changeth not; if so he would cease to be God; and he ceaseth not to be God, and is a God of miracles

God is the same yesterday, today and forever! So if he did great miracles a long time ago, he will still provide miracles for us according to our faith

Week

Highlights:

- started a pickleball activity on Saturdays!

- I'd say I'm becoming a bit of a 요리사 (chef) (I love cooking nowadays)

- been told I look like Newt from the maze runner 3 times (do you agree? Leave your opinion in the comments below! 😃⬇️😃⬇️)

One of our most progressing teaching friends is in jail 😔 but hopefully it's just a temporary thing. His name is Tom from Croatia. He went to the Philippines to renew his visa and something occurred I guess and now he's stuck in jail there. He told us if he gets out he probably won't be allowed back in korea, but he would become a member of the church in Croatia. So pray for him!

Other than that our other teaching friends are progressing slowly but surely and we are putting more focus back on finding people this week!

3 Nephi 18:15

Verily, verily, I say unto you, ye must watch and pray always, lest ye be tempted by the devil, and ye be led away captive by him

If we are not always watching and praying, it will make Satan's grasp on us that much stronger. But by simply praying daily, even once, will make us resistance to temptation stronger. And when we are not praying, we can at least have a prayer in our heart. So make sure to pray this week!

Back to 2

Transfers are this week and our trio is coming to an end which is sad, cause it was a fun couple weeks.  I'm going back to the YSA with my original companion and my other comp is going back to his ward and getting a new comp. We're also going back to 6 people in our apartment, although we may get evicted soon, cause we accidentally pressed some emergency button or something when we were fixing our fridge, so the security guy came up to see what was the deal and then he saw all our beds and asked how many people live here. I'm pretty sure we're not allowed to have 6 haha so we'll see

Other than that I'm excited to stay in YSA. We started a monthly Futsal activity which we had on Saturday and it was awesome. Among our teaching friends, I think there are three that could be potentially on date to be baptized this transfer, so I can't wait to keep meeting with them

Highlights:

-more snow

-well I can't think of any other things right now, oh well

-oh yeah, felt a little rebellious and stayed up til 10:40 on new years eve

Helaman 5:10  "And remember also the words which Amulek spake unto Zeezrom, in the city of Ammonihah; for he said unto him that the Lord surely should come to redeem his people, but that he should not come to redeem them in their sins, but to redeem them from their sins"

This verse sticks out to me because the Lord came not to redeem us in our sins, but to redeem us from our sins. Jesus Christ came and Atoned for all the sins of the world. But that doesn't He has redeemed us in our sins. He has redeemed us from our sins, and so we need work on our behalf to apply His Atonement in our lives. He will not redeem us in our sins, because why would He redeem us in sin just so we can continue in sin? Redeeming us from sin means we are redeemed as we grow apart from sin

좋은 보내시길 바랍니다~~
